Maomao

Maomao works as an apothecary in the red light district, helping her mentor and adoptive father Ruomen in caring for its residents, with special attention given the Verdigris Hall brothel, where she born and was initially raised.
One day, while gathering herbs, she gets kidnapped and sold to be a common servant in the inner court of the imperial palace, where the only the Emperor's consorts and their servants reside. Not allowed to leave, her curious personality and skills being to rope her into mysterious problems that can affect the whole country.
She is skinny and short, her plain face is covered with freckles, her left arm heavily scarred due to her many experiments with poison and she is missing the tip of her pinky.
